I have always used some of my favorite photographs of our backyard birds and critters as the background on my monitors. Several sites selling bird related items offer free wallpaper of some of their pictures. Unfortunately, more often than not, the offered photo does not show the bird to great advantage because it is only offered in one size and is subject to extreme blurring and pixelation depending on the size of your monitor and whether or not you stretch the image to fill the screen. Because my backgrounds are worked from my original photos, the results seem much clearer when enlarged.

Many of you have written to ask if you can 'borrow' site photos for personal use as desktop backgrounds. While all the photos are copyrighted and may not be copied or published, you are welcome to download and enjoy the monthly calendar desktop wallpapers provided below.

Three different sizes are provided and each contains a monthly calendar you'll find useful for quick reference along with the identity of the current bird "pinup" boy or girl. To set the photo of your choice as the background on your desktop, click the image of your choice below to open it. With the image open, right click the open image and select [Set As Background] from the context menu that appears.
